Tom Kreisler – documentary

Shirley Horrocks has co-produced/directed a documentary on local Taranaki artist Tom Kreisler. It is going to screen as part of the NZ International Film Festival. (Read more about the documentary here…)

It will screen at the Len Lye Centre on Saturday September 5th at 3.30 p.m. and Sunday September 6th at 6.30 p.m.

TOM WHO?: THE ENIGMA OF TOM KREISLER, our documentary about an amazing artist who continues to be unfairly overlooked in histories of New Zealand art, is about to screen in New Plymouth as part of the International Film Festival.

The film includes interviews with leading New Zealand artists, and has a very special connection with New Plymouth since Tom Kreisler lived there for much of his life, teaching at the Boys High School, Taranaki Polytechnic, the Stratford art group, etc. He was also very involved over the years with the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery.

TOM WHO? traces the fascinating life of a unique artist. It’s a feature-length documentary that has had an enthusiastic reception from Festival audiences in other cities. This is likely to be your only chance to see it on the big screen.

The two screenings in New Plymouth, in the Len Lye Centre’s cinema, are:

Saturday September 5th at 3.30 pm, and Sunday September 6th at 6.30 pm.
