Careers Expo 2013

Whew! Another whirlwind careers expo is done and dusted. Sunday as usual was for those looking to beat the crowds and learn about WITT courses in their own time, while Monday saw many busloads of high school students come through the TSB Stadium to take part in the fun activities and learn about tertiary study.

Here are some pics that feature WITT Art and our jolly fine crew: Hover for descriptions.

If you didn’t make it up to see us at the Careers Expo this year, don’t worry. You can contact us anytime to talk about studying Art, Design, Photography, Animation, Video.

As part of their Creative Technologies class, students formed a band! Their debut performance was captured by Dominika Zielinska, one of our Certificate of Photography students.

Senior Print Media Students Celebrate

Today our Senior Print Media students celebrated the halfway point of the semester with presentations of their project work and…

One design student, Ashley De Grey, used her self-identity and branding project to create a brand for cake decorating business. And she kindly brought in a sumptuous chocolate cake for us all to savour. Yummy!

Pre-enrolment BBQ

What better way to celebrate the end of the year and look forward to 2013 but with a tasty BBQ!

We held a pre-enrolment day where students could come along, meet with tutors, and select their classes for next year.

If you want to enrol for 2013 then make a beeline for our enrolment page, or pop in and see us. If you are a current student, come in and choose your classes for next year before they fill up!

The Great (Egg) Race!

Students from Business, Computing and Creative Graphics today took part in The Great (Egg) Race which had them deciphering clues and running all over campus in their quest to win.

With the three disciplines combined there were over 60 students taking part, with each team responsible for the care and well-being of….an egg! First task saw them making a carrier for their precious cargo. Then it was on with the race around campus to find the library, the admin, the health clinic, their classrooms, the cafeteria, registry, carparks, and discovered that there are 75 steps from the lower carpark. And of course there were games and activities along the way. They had to draw around each other on huge pieces of paper, decorate their eggs, play a ping-pong-bingo game, make origami water-bombs, write a limerick at The Garage cafe and also photograph their egg in locations along the race as proof!

Here are some shots from the prize-giving:

Welcome back BBQ

Lured out of their studios, the hungry art students and tutors alike enjoyed a warm lunch in the sun together. Plenty of sausages, tomato sauce, and fried onions. Yum!

This was the first official event held in our new art block, and the big sunny atrium proved it’s worth, keeping the winter chill away.
