Yesterday the students from Yr 9 and 10 art at Inglewood came to take part in the lettering design workshop. With their teachers Clare Tate and Sally-May Hopper, the students seemed to have a great time and we had lots of fun too. Here are some pics of the day’s activities:

End of Semester 1

So semester one is drawing to a close, and the Certificate in Photography students have been celebrating their critiques all week with a (un-) healthy dose of SUGAR!

Above: clockwise starting on the left: Carmela Snooks, Clare Richardson, Michelle Gallichan, Abbey Rowe, Sarah Davis, Kate Douglas, and Tiffany Marshall. Each student is proudly displaying on of their posters for their 4.001 Design paper.

Above: Thanks to Clare Richardson for her baking efforts. We have been treated to scones, chocolate brownies, chocolate cupcakes with little creatures on top, and rainbow cupcakes. Starting to think that this course needs a phys-ed component! :P

Have a fantastic break everyone, can’t wait to see you all nice and relaxed after the hols!

NZIPP – Mike Langford presents his work to New Plymouth photographers

New Plymouth photographers, members of the NZIPP, and students were treated to an amazing presentation by renowned professional commercial photographer, Mike Langford.

As the sun set and the wind got up, Mike spoke about his work creating books, and shared stories from his travels to China, Korea, and Japan. Thanks to Chris Hill for organising this event, WITT for sponsoring the venue and nibbles, and Mike for making the long journey to get here.

With a turn out of roughly 35 people, a mixture of NZIPP members and non-members alike, the evening was a great success and enabled local photographer to network and chat.
