The Waxen Lady

Mimesis: “To Imitate”. These works examine the
concept of imitation, meaning to copy, to
reproduce or to simulate. Form, pattern, and
layering result from an investigation into natural
and synthetic materials.

Traces of the environment are captured,
manipulated and preserved to emphasize the
tension between ecology and technology.
Contributing techniques and processes have
involved encaustic (hot wax), frottage (rubbing)
and burning.
