NZ Certificate in Digital Media and Design

Our new qualification for 2017 starts beginning of each year, next intake is Feb 2018. Learn foundation skills in digital illustration, digital photography, graphic design, typography, and digital media including moving-image and web.

 

This National Qualification is perfect for people who wish to embrace digital creativity in a practical and hands-on way. You get to study exciting topics and work through design briefs modeled on real-world projects. Projects include creating a portfolio of digital photography, making a typographic brochure, designing and advert, building a set of business branding, creating a website, and working with some basic moving image such as animation or video.

 

WHAT IS THE PROGRAMME LIKE?

This 17 week programme is suitable for people looking to gain a foundation in computer graphics. Your tutors will guide you through the entire time. Together with your classmates you will learn by completing projects in digital photography,digital illustration, graphic design, typography and moving image (including video and web design).

Classes are held four days a week, and you are encouraged to use your free day to work on class projects.

We work from one classroom that acts as our home base, and travel out for local field trips and activities.

 

WHAT DOES THE NZ CERTIFICATE IN DIGITAL MEDIA AND DESIGN PREPARE YOU FOR?

The basic skills and practical experience you gain here will allow you to proceed to Level 4 study at WITT Art, Design and Media. It will also start you on your journey to becoming a digital artist or digital print assistant.
